I am only on page 163, and I cannot put this book down! I had always assumed The Color Purple to be a book that challenges readers to dig deep, but I had never imagined it this way! The Color Purple forces you to dive under your skin and expose your divinity. It‘s beautiful writing style provides a smooth read and makes for a book I could read a million times! And between you and I, it couldn‘t have come at a more beautiful time in life.

“There is a way that the men speak to women that reminds me too much of Pa. They listen just long enough to issue instructions. They don‘t even look at a women when women are speaking. They look at the ground and bend their heads toward the ground. The women also do not ‘look in a man‘s face‘ as they say. To look in a man‘s face is a brazen thing to do.” WOW!

I really enjoyed this book. It was very vivid in story telling. I hope I encounter this book again
