Weaponxgirl As someone who is scared of photos I‘m finding this interesting 6y
GingerAntics @Weaponxgirl right? I'm having the same thought. 6y
Weaponxgirl @GingerAntics I find a photo can make me aware of myself in a way that can take me from feeling ok about myself to hating how I look. Why I have avoided them for yonks. This is a different perspective for me I honestly hadn‘t thought about 6y

GingerAntics @Weaponxgirl I remember I had to do this project for a photography class once. We had to take a self portrait every day for the entire semester. I hated most of them, but I ended up getting more creative with it and liked a few of them. Especially the one I staged where I was peeking over the top of a book I was reading at the time. That one ended up turning into a full on photo shoot with me, my book, and the remote to my camera. lol 6y
GingerAntics @Weaponxgirl so the bit about you getting to tell your story from your own perspective makes sense to me. Once I stopped doing what I thought I was supposed to be doing and started doing me, I liked the results. That was kind of the point of the assignment and what she‘s saying here, too. She even says not to show anyone if you don‘t want to. Eventually you‘ll like one and share it. (edited) 6y
GingerAntics @Weaponxgirl in fact, she tells this great story of one photo from a photo shoot and she jumped in and did this silly thing to lighten the mood at the beginning of the shoot. The resulting photo terrified her and she hated it. She kept it for weeks and eventually got up the courage to show it to her boyfriend who loved it and thought it was hot and saw the quirky woman he loved. Suddenly her opinion of the photo started shifting. 🤷🏼‍♀️ 6y
Weaponxgirl I may give it a try sometime then. They honestly fill me with dread! 6y
GingerAntics @Weaponxgirl same here. I hadn't even thought of that assignment in relation to this until just now. I may have to do a daily selfie and post none of them... just wait until I start liking them. lol 6y
Weaponxgirl I can never even hold the camera right! 6y
GingerAntics @Weaponxgirl I used a tripod for my best ones. They end up looking better that way, but there isn't a tripod for your phone. Having to hold it makes it harder. I think I've officially lost that bookish photo, though. 6y
