A satisfying conclusion, even if the ending was a bit deus ex machina with a higher power stepping in to save things. Plenty of space battles to keep the action on the edge of your seat. I'd read more books about the U.S.S. Prometheus. 4 💥💥💥💥

? Star Trek: Prometheus - In The Heart of Chaos, Arguing With Zombies: Economics, Politics and The Fight for A Better Future
? "The Big Game" by Simon R. Green. I read very few short stories, this was from Tales From the Nightside, book 13 of the Nightside series.
? The Splendid and the Vile (609 pgs)

"With the ardent passion of gods - their wrath easily provoked, their favor to be solicited anew time and again - the Ancient Reds looked down from the heavens above Hestaon onto the gathering of the Renao, their faithful worshippers."

Happily, this book doesn't suffer from "middle book syndrome", where nothing really happens except a setup for the finale. There are more terrorist attacks, which lead back to the least expected return of a classic TOS villain. I didn't see it coming, but once revealed it made so much sense, I don't see how I missed it. 4 ????

An interesting beginning to a trilogy about terrorism in the Star Trek universe. Various Starfleet and Klingon stations are being destroyed but an unknown terrorist group called the Purifying Flame, so the Prometheus and I.K.S. Bortas are sent to investigate. 4 💥💥💥💥

"Space, the final frontier"
Well, it is a Star Trek book after all. ???

Always good. Hephaistos‘ story is also Prometheus‘ story, and it raises lots of interesting questions on both fronts.
Book eight finished in #SummersEndReadathon and #24B4Monday and just over 19 hours!

Excellent black comedy satirising publishing truthers' views of the Bible. Only the most glancing nods to the story of Prometheus.
I wish to point out at this juncture that I have never stalked an antelope
