I enjoyed this. Of course, the sisters were nothing like princesses and it took a while to convince them to try (though there were extenuating factors, like not having time to do any lessons), so it was somewhat amusing at first, too. There was a section in the middle that slowed down a bit, but when a war started, anyway, it picked up again. I feel like it was a nice wrap-up to the series

Nice book though I prefer the first one.

Pickpick

This sequel is still about family and friendships but also the love of your country and how to find the best way for everyone to progress. Recommended!

‘Do not show the others in case I am doing it wrong‘

I do love the way Katar is hesitant about writing her letter and the contrast between her letter and Britta‘s. I think you do have to have read the first book, Princess Academy, to fully appreciate this one.

‘Your head will be fine,‘ said Miri. ‘It‘s your neck you should worry about.‘

The moment Katar and Miri cement their friendship.

I'm currently reading the book, Princess Academy; The Palace of Stone. Although it sounds like another princess book for younger children, this few book series is filled with action. In the last book, a few mountain girls working in quarries are taken to an academy where they are taught to have manners, but the academy is robbed and taken over by bandits. Now, they must go down to a kingdom and help their friend who happens to be the princess.

The first book cover feels very 80s. Book 2 seemed more current.

The first and second book in the series was good and the third book started out just fine. But towards the end, I felt like Hale was rushing the plot so she could wrap things up in a reasonable number of pages. She spent the entire book building up a moral dilemma for Miri and then conveniently has insta-love solve the problems. 😣I would definitely read the first and second (or listen on audio!) but maybe skip the last one.

I thought Princess Academy and Palace of Stone were both really sweet and I'm glad to have my hands on this. (I got a hardback from bookoutlet for $2 🎉😍)
