pickA book that sets the record straight on the many things humans have gotten wrong about animals from eel reproduction to the worthiness of the sloth. Entertaining even while teaching me tidbits that I am looking f forward to sharing with others.

pickEmily Levesque delves into the history of astronomy. She talks about developments, new technology, and the difficulties of observing the sky. Her personal stories and anecdotes make the science and the scientists feel more real. I found it interesting. panThis has languished on my TBR! I planned on listening around Halloween- but I‘m glad I didn‘t because there‘s nothing spooky about it! Usually I find Roach‘s writing to be a combination of fascinating & fun, but this one frankly fell flat for me. It‘s dull-& quite mean-spirited to a wide variety of organized religions & looser spiritualities. I‘m glad this isn‘t where I started because I doubt I would have read more from her & I‘d have missed out!

Had picked up this book when the movie had come out as I wanted to read more deeply into the story of the women. The story starts off with Dorothy Vaughan and her introduction to NACA (before it became NASA). The movie is alot more condensed and "flashy" but the book does give a more gradual view of how things actually settled in at NASA.
