Book VII - home stretch? #middlemarchmadness
I finally finished (late) for #middlemarchmadness! I really enjoyed this book and came to love the characters. I wish I had read this when I was younger, before I fell in love, broken someone's heart, had my own broken and then met the man I am soon to marry. I don't see marriage often being so thoughtfully illustrated in any literature especially its regards to status, expectations and inner turmoil.
#teamMaryGarth!
Finished early with #middlemarchmadness - I usually reach a point with readalongs where I hit the good part of a book and don't quit reading 😜. Middlemarch is a novel that rewards re-reading. More details each time. A fascinatingly complex yet simple story. Thanks Rincey for the RAL!
I feel like there's a point in any book where you need to finish the rest in one sitting. It's kind of like trying to stop a roller coaster on the downward slope. I've been sipping this book all summer and I have less than 100 pages left.
Let's do this thing, George Eliot.
He distrusted her affection; and what loneliness is more lonely than distrust?
Is anyone else doing #middlemarchmadness? I'm going to start posting some thoughts and questions and was curious to see other feedback and thoughts. This is my first reading, so insight is welcome!
