Finally finished this with my son, and I really enjoyed it. It‘s not suuuuuuper realistic, but I get it‘s for kids (my son is 11). Michael‘s dad is the Irish ambassador in Berlin during WWII, and they, along with Michael‘s mom, are spies for Britain. It has enough to teach about WWII, with hints of the Holocaust, while not being horrific. It‘s a great book for kids interested in history and the world wars.

Parallel Journeys | Eleanor H. Ayer
Pickpick

Parallel Journeys is an amazing book that gives a perspective of a Jewish girl and a German boy who both talk about their lives and journeys during World War Two. This book helps people to hear both sides of the story and hear how both sides feel about everything that happened. When reading this, it can help people to understand the drives that different people have and how they handle things. It‘s a very emotional story and I‘m glad I read it.

Read this on advice of a ninth-grade student. Fast-paced, interesting book. Engaging for youth, especially a young boy. This book had enough to keep me interested. There‘s nothing deep or over-thinking things, but I think a lot of boys would like this book. I would read another book by this author!

This is an incredibly taut thriller, made even more engrossing and gut-wrenching due to the fact that so many of the events are real. Michael is a young boy in Germany, the son of Irish spies trying to do all that he possibly can to help defeat the Nazis and end the war. While a number of instances in the book are very convenient , the novel as a whole is really strong and will be incredibly popular with young fans of the spy thriller genre.

I think it‘s about time I move this off my unfinished book stack. I had to scroll back 8 months to see when I started it and set it aside. Argh! So I took it to the doctor‘s for my physical today to get stuck back into it. Here‘s hoping I stay focused this time.

RedxoHearts Aw cute reading buddy. I love their eyebrows and beard lol 3y

This is an action packed middle grade/teen novel about WWII espionage and the Hitler Youth. I think younger readers would stay interested because of the action and learn a lot. I know I did.

I can‘t recall ever reading a book with a character with my name. I‘m as excited as a kid finding their name on a keychain!

sblbooks I'm in the middle of this one too. I've got a hour and 43 minutes left. It's really good. 3y
