Welcome to Litsy!

I finally finished this one but I‘ll definitely be coming back to it again and again. It‘s probably my favorite design book so far as it connects two of my passions: (obviously) design and stories. There were so many books and articles referenced that my TBR list just got bigger, and there were countless practice exercises and prompts to get the creative juices flowing. I‘ve been so hyper-focused on my health & fitness goals that my creative/professional goals have kinda fallen by the wayside. So, to get motivated, I decided my next nonfiction read should be design related. Inspiration awaits (I hope)…

If you love epic fantasy like Lord of the Rings or The Sword of Shannara, you'll probably enjoy this book. It took about 400 pages for this book to start developing its own character, or for the characters to stop being as flat. The girl never stopped being flat, though. Overall, not a bad book but it just didn't stand out to me. #Fantasy #EpicFantasy #HerosJourney

I was super down last week after catching COVID for the first time and having to isolate from my family… so I got some books to cheer myself up lol. One of my goals for this year is to read more design books (I‘m currently studying Graphic Design). I‘m really excited about these three!

Rabbit has captured some wishes, and he asks his friends what they would wish for, at the same times asking himself if that is what he should make his wish. The illustrations are the right mix of soft and cute, but not too baby or fuzzy. They are art i would hang on my wall, and while sometimes the story loses it cadence, it doesn‘t matter because you are full into the story and the actions taking place.

I didn‘t know what to expect when I picked up #TheTrees by #AliShaw , but it certainly isn‘t what I expected😏 A dash of #postapocalypse mixed with #herosjourney splashed with #philosophy . Or something like that. It‘s a really hard book to describe in short terms, so just read it😋
