pickPretty good middle grade novel with nice narration. The creepy old mansion and spooky woods atmosphere was a lot of fun. I also enjoyed the clock mystery mixed with a dash of alchemy. The ending churns up a bunch of new variables which felt kind of forced as a way to leave room for sequels. Still it‘s a fun read for kids who like creepy, but not too scary.
