#fourfoursin21 completed! Just a wee bit late, I didn't finish the 2 in green until the new year.

Now, on to #fourfoursin22! I have ideas for a few of the prompts already...

Thanks for hosting a fun challenge, @Lauredhel!

My last book for #fourfoursin21 (late but oh well) for the epistolary prompt, as this book is entirely an epistolary novel. @Lauredhel

I really enjoyed this, though almost all the men are terrible (hello patriarchy) and at times I found Evelina's discomfort with the situations she's in pretty uncomfortable to read. I'd never read Burney before and will give her others a try.

Also this is the 100th book I've read from the #1001books list 🎉

llwheeler *for the correspondent prompt, bc the book is epistolary 3y
readordierachel 100 books from the list! Well done 👏🏼 3y
llwheeler @readordierachel thanks! 🙂 3y
Lauredhel Maybe you're not eligible for the prize, but still congratulations for finishing! 3y

I didn't finish #fourfoursin21 in 21, but still finished the last two prompts this week. This was for centenary (century is in the subtitle) @Lauredhel

This has been on my library wishlist for long enough I couldn't remember why I put it on there... I think to give true crime a try (not a genre I have read) with a non-violent crime. It was a compelling read, parts very upsetting for human destruction of nature via exotic animal trade. However ⬇️

llwheeler I'm skeptical that what the author presented as the story of the heist itself is true... He didn't sell me on his sources or information. (as I said, though, not a genre I'm familiar with). Still a pick for the larger historical context of exploitation of rare birds for their feathers for fashion. 3y

#fourfoursin21 comestible @Lauredhel

Finished this a few days ago, and I did enjoy it overall. The focus is much more on his mental health, and less on food, than I was expecting. Which isn't a criticism.

Time to catch up on his Netflix shows.

Cathythoughts That‘s a great cover 👍🏻 3y
llwheeler @Cathythoughts I agree, I love the cover 3y

It's time for the big reveal! The Four Fours in 22 reading challenge is go.

This is a very non-prescriptive challenge! You can read all your books in one genre if you like - fiction or non-fiction - or choose to take it as a challenge to strike out into new genres. Interpret the prompts as literally or as figuratively as you like, and use your imagination. There will be a wee prize at the end.

#fourfoursin22 #litsyevents #readingchallenge

Lauredhel The four sets of four can be used seasonally, or just ignore them and charge ahead with the lot at random. I'll be posting some hints and suggestions on each prompt in separate posts over the next little while.
3y
Lauredhel And if you completed this year's #fourfoursin21 , it's time to let me know! I'll post separately calling for completion submissions.

CarolynM Sounds like fun 🙂 I'm notoriously bad at reading challenges, but I might try. 3y
Lauredhel @CarolynM this is intended as the chill-est challenge :) and sometimes I'll be reading a book and suddenly realise how it fills a prompt, to my surprise. 3y
tokorowilliamwallace I think I will be attempting to read a lot on and from China and India in 2022. I need to get pack into my world affairs/global politics/globalization/turn-towards-the-East/international relations and policy reading as I was on a decade ago again. My issue is focus, though! There's so much out there, and I crave novelty and variety too much! I need to figure out how to steady and stabilize my mind again. 3y
wanderinglynn Sounds like fun! 3y

#fourfoursin21 indigenous @Lauredhel

Poetry primarily about residential schools. Overall, I thought the poems were well done, though of course some worked better for me than others. Obviously, this is hard subject matter to deal with and to read about.

Lauredhel I'm wrapping up the #fourfoursin21 #readingchallenge ! If you have completed it, please email me lauredhelhoyden@gmail.com with your list of reads by the end of the year. I'll randomly choose a winner, and email you your prize questionnaire. 3y
llwheeler I'm still working on it, 2 more prompts to go! (and one just finished that I haven't posted yet) hopefully I'll finish by the end of the year. Thanks for a fun challenge! 3y
llwheeler @Lauredhel forgot to hit reply, see above 🙂 3y
Lauredhel @llwheeler no worries - easy to finish! You can always pick up a picture book or comic or novella... 3y
llwheeler @Lauredhel very true! Though I already have books in mind for the prompts (not short ones either haha), and I am stubborn, so we'll see! 3y
