Bigfoot/Sasquatch isn‘t something I‘ve had much interest in, or a solid belief. I‘ve watched some personal stories about it lately though, and I find it interesting. The author travels to British Columbia to hear these kinds of stories from the locals. He gets indigenous wisdom and many stories; he learns the many names of this mysterious being; he meets other scientists who ask, if we know this creature exists, why the stigma? The book is⬇️

JenniferEgnor beautifully written. Part history, part science, part mystical—it leaves you to find your own path to seeing and defining the Sasquatch. 3d
JenniferEgnor ‘The Valleys of the Noble Beyond‘ are defined by a local as: The Great Bear Rainforest; the land of serendipity, the ultimate landscape of myth, magic, and metaphor. The domain that is the unseen universe. A place where interconnection and deeper meanings lie around every corner… where Sasquatch, coincidences, and one million other possibilities exist. 3d

Went to the Coney Island Mermaid Parade yesterday!! Here‘s me doing a hobby of mine - dressing and swimming as a mermaid!

We couldn‘t go in the water because of the lightning (see top left) but we got to get photos on the beach!

@CaseyTheCanadianLesbrarian 🧜‍♀️ photo for you!!

Liz_M I saw a bunch of people covered in sequins and very sexily dressed in the subway and was saddened that I hadn't even realized it was the Mermaid parade.

That is a stunning outfit you have and a great photo!

The second InCryptid book was just as fun as the first. McGuire populates her urban fantasy with memorable, entertaining characters—take Istas who walks around asking “if there will be carnage,” for example—and sets them in a world where dragons, talking mice (who happen to really like cake), & other such creatures hide & thrive amongst humans…until the Covenant of St. George shows up to purge them. Humorous with a good dash of danger & mayhem.

Love this! @TheSpineView

1. a Yuki Onna (the Japanese Snow Woman) 😎 or a vampire.
2. so many! tons of bestiaries - the tagged one is one of my favourites. in fiction, there are loads as well: American Gods, Dracula, Carmilla, Thistlefoot, Folklore - a Dark Anthology, Swamplandia!, Spirits Abroad, the Odyssey, fairy tale collections, so many ghost stories, etc. etc. etc.

TheSpineView Have never heard of Japanese Snow Woman but love vampires. Thanks for playing 10mo

This is quite an interesting book. It‘s non-fiction and was written by a man who traveled to the area in British Columbia known as the Great Bear Rainforest. He went there to talk to people who have seen Sasquatch, hoping, of course, to see one himself. But the book is about more than that, it‘s also a glimpse into the lives of the First Nation tribes who live there. Wonderful writing.
