Coco Chanel has always fascinated me...not just her designs.. but as a woman, during WWII. This was a decent look at her that spans her entire life with photos and copies of letters she wrote. A very easy and interesting read. #bookspin @thearomaofbooks

This was a surprisingly good read and goes into great depth about who Coco Chanel was and her stubborn determination. If you are a fan of historic WWII fiction I would suggest adding this to your summer reading list.

My mom always wore Chanel No. 5. Sentimental memories were the reason this book peaked my interest. I‘m sticking to my self-permission of bailing on any books that aren‘t satisfying my interests. Unfortunately, I bailed on this 16% of the way in. The writing and narration of the audiobook are fine. It‘s not the book, it‘s me.

A 2023 reading goal is to always have a nonfiction or biography running simultaneously with my fiction reading. This 2nd 2023 bio read conversationally while slipping into a Who‘s Who List on influential people Chanel mingled with. To sum it up, Chanel was mysterious, inventive, prone to mixing truth with omission and embellishment in the story of her life. Chaney tried to piece it together but it‘s very surface level and speculative at times. ⬇️

I have not been able to find time to read, with all these essays I have to write for school it‘s consuming all of my time! But I need a down time to let my brain relax and hopefully this book will be an interesting read so I can relax

Despite not being a huge perfume person, this book was fascinating! Chanel No 5 was the dream of an orphan and showgirl who climbed the rungs of society to be a style icon. This is the story to Coco in relation to the perfume. The book also went into the financial side looking at Coco‘s selling of the rights to the fragrance early and the fight to gain it back.

I don‘t read historical fiction very often but this was quite enjoyable. Set mostly in Paris after WWI, Isabelle is a lovely country girl who brings her seamstress skills to work for Coco Chanel. A fascinating trip into that time period! This book introduces you to the world of French fashion, and provides a dash of mystery and romance.

This was a sweet, short illustrated biography of Jane Austen.
