Pickpick

This nonfiction takes the reader through a mini walk of Martin Luther King, Jr.‘s life. Starting from when he was a little boy and was able to identify and read “white only signs” to when he traveled to Memphis, Tennessee, to help the garbage collectors on strike and was shot and died. The book focuses on the “big words” he used to help change the world and how he used love to fight hate. (1/3) #ucflae3414sp20 #butwaittheresmoretoread

victoriamaria This book can be used as an introductory lesson for prominent figures during the 1950s. It can be used to integrate history lessons. The illustrator‘a style is very unique. The illustrator uses a collage style technique. The illustrator mentions in the note that there are a few symbols throughout the book that represents an event that occurred during that time period. DrSpalding Excellent resource… It is not hyperlinked. Try to fix that? Excellent idea to utilize this book in a social studies lesson. Add the verbiage to the one universal design and English learner strategy required. 5y
