Pickpick

If Eastenders was set in France in the 1800s and lacked subplots. I freaking loved it.

Ye_Mighty_Andy_Spare That's quite possibly the greatest one-sentence book review i've ever read 6y
tournevis The made a movie out of Thérèse Raquin? Ok. 6y

catsuit_mango Strangely I read some zola when I was too young for it, then studied some more at school and not thinking of zola as a fun read... ;) 6y
BookishTrish @tournevis Apparently they did. Jessica Lange is the mama. I haven‘t seen it. 6y
BookishTrish @catsuit_mango I didn‘t realize it was a classic when I got into it because of the movie tie in cover so I read it like a trashy plot-driven novel and thoroughly enjoyed myself. 6y
tournevis @BookishTrish I started the book but Zola is not my guy. I've read a lot of his Rougon-Macquart books because 19th century Paris and that was my first field of study, but I never liked him. 6y
readordierachel Loved the movie. Must read the book! 6y
