Aquaman | Paul Norris

Just finished watching the tagged movie (Jason Momoa) and holy hell. Way too much CGI. I honestly felt annoyed by how much they used. All the fight scenes looked like early generation MMORPG games. Also may I just say hair as short as orms is wouldn't make a smooth chinon even soaking wet.

JLA: Year One Deluxe Edition | Mark Waid, Brian Augustyn

It‘s a Sunday afternoon comics, tea, & biscuits situation over here. I‘m having a lot of fun with JLA: YEAR ONE. It‘s a great look at what happens between the team‘s big adventures, and I get a huge kick out of spotting characters I know from other DC comics and/or the various TV shows. (In the main, I believe Marvel‘s got way better movies and DC‘s got way better TV shows. I can‘t say I‘ve watched ‘em ALL, but I‘ve watched a lot.)

This, although a pick, is a mixed review. Story-wise, I enjoyed it. This was probably the scariest I‘ve seen of the Joker. Overall, super creepy and dark. And I love that. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

But as I was reading, I felt like I had read some of it, while some of it seemed fresh… and that‘s when I found out that they took most of Batman: Endgame, and shoved some new stories in and republished it as a whole different book. Not cool. Slightly skeevy. ⭐️

When you think you‘ve read the whole Snyder Batman run last year (in the goal of finishing all your GN TBR pile), and then your friend finds a random GN at the dollar store…. 😳

Absolutely amazing comic. Never read this before and it is a great view on the end of the battle between joker and batman. Ivonic and beautiful.

9/10:
All around, this story is absolutely brilliant! It‘s such an interesting story for The Flash and I‘ve enjoyed the interpretations this story has had over the years. I simply wish it was a bit longer to flesh out his part in the story some more, but still, absolutely wonderful with some BEAUTIFUL art!

Dark Knight III: the Master Race | Frank Miller, Brian Azzarello

Pickpick

I like old Batman. I love my characters jaded, damaged but driven, and that is Batman. This was a good Miller; I‘d say on par with Year One and Dark Knight Rises. Although at times, the story seemed disjointed and random (unsure what the ‘gangster‘ texts were for) it was still a solid story.

I loved, for once, that different artists were used throughout. I love Miller‘s harsh style but it can be a bit much for an entire book.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved Dark Knight Returns; I skipped Strikes Again (because obvs); and now I‘m trying Master Race! Come on Miller, end on a good note!! #currentlyreading

I loved this beautiful graphic novel. When you're different in a small town, it's difficult to find a way to feel normal. This graphic novel tackles feeling like an outsider, fighting for your dreams, coming out, superpowers, deep and lasting friendship, and complicated family Dynamics. The story is fun, the art is beautiful, and the characters are highly loveable. #lgbtcomic #lgbt #lgbtq #ownvoices #superhero #aquaman #DC
