My first book of this year turned out to be one of favourites! I‘ll never forget this wonderful book and the laughs, fear, tears, and smiles it brought me. I recommend to anyone who likes to read! #firstbookof2021 #Watershipdown

If you're thinking to read this be warned, its not really a sequel to Watership Down, its pretty fluffy compared to book one and doesn't follow on from the storyline. In fact you don't even see our legendary bunnies until 56% of the way through.

The first 55% of this book is Dandelion telling bunny folklore tales which are cute.

However once you hit Part 3 we meet up again with Kehaar the gull, Fiver, Hazel, Bigwig and the rest of the gang

Pickpick

A nice collection of short stories to add to the first book - Watership Down. I think it‘s best to not read one after another, gets a bit difficult if you do.

I‘ve said it before but I think the quotes from other writers Richard Adams puts at the beginning of each chapter in watership down is really great and will help people find more writers to love. #auden #richardadams #watershipdown

I don‘t know which translation Richard Adams used when he quoted Agamemnon in the into to, Watership Down, but it‘s beautiful. #Agamemnon #watershipdown #richardadams

GREAT SCOT, YES PLEASE!!! (See what I did there?) Peter Capaldi can read me anything he wants, just like Neil Gaiman and David Tennant. This has been on my wish list since before grad school and this seems like as logical a time to get it as any!!!

Gezemice Ooooh! Love that book,I should get that narration! 5y
GingerAntics @Gezemice I‘ve heard a lot of people say this is such a good book. I figure this would be an amazing way to read it. 5y
Gezemice @GingerAntics Definitely! And yes, great book. Not just because I own bunnies. 😊 5y

Faibka OMG!!!! I‘m going to have to overcome the childhood trauma that was left when I watched the animated adaptation. Seriously I‘ve been avoiding this book but, Peter Capaldi! 😱 I can‘t pass it up, lol 5y
Faibka And I completely agree with you about Neil Gaiman and David Tennant, the very few audio books I have are read by them, fantastic narrators! 5y
GingerAntics @faibka you can‘t beat a really good narrator. There was a traumatising cartoon version? Glad I didn‘t see that. lol 5y
Faibka @GingerAntics yes be thankful! this traumatized a whole generation of kids, lol. A film about cute bunnies what could go wrong? Lol it‘s was horrible, my sister and I watched on TV and had nightmares for a month 5y
GingerAntics @Faibka WOW!!! 😮 5y
Faibka @GingerAntics here‘s the trailer if you want to take a peak, the most horrible violent scenes are not in it but still kinda creeps you out, lol https://youtu.be/9S26LA8Bk14 5y
GingerAntics @Faibka oh my god, I think I‘ve been traumatised just from that trailer. How is that for children?! No way. 5y

While not as linear as the first book, it was fun to have the familiar characters back. There were several more rabbit folktales, and more events with the new Watership Warren. While this book does not quite stand alone as a novel, it is a very delightful companion to Watership Down.
