I would use this book in my classroom to teach children about hard work and resilience. I would also use it to show children how the same story can change with different versions.
pickThe Three Little Pigs is a long tale that's been told since 1980 when the first story was published. Three pigs build their own houses using different materials straw, sticks, and bricks. The Big Bad Wolf comes along and blows down the first two houses but he can't blow down the house made of bricks. The wolf tries to enter the brick house but one pig sets a pot of boiling water at the bottom of the chimney, leading to the wolf's demise
pickCharming and ruthless political consultant Thom works for the governor of California, who is making a bid for the presidency. She‘s a truly awful woman who makes a public homophobic gaffe and through a ludicrous plan, decides Thom should have a social media romance to divert attention. Is it objectionable that straight presenting Thom is faking gay or refreshing to show sexual fluidity? The political theater was appalling but fun to read.
so-soEnemies to lovers is my fave trope. I loved the premise and set up for this but the execution wasn‘t great. I wasn‘t really sold on why they were enemies or on them developing into a real relationship. Thom was objectively a horrid person who uses people and the story didn‘t really sell me on why Clay was different for him. Very meh. #romance
This story is retold in a way that is more mature. It still used the same classic story and some sayings.
He gave up crime and spent the rest of his life as a mellow beach bum lolling about on the Gulf of Pasta.
