El Deafo by Cece Bell is an Autobiography (Graphic Novel) that describes what it feels like to grow up deaf all while trying to maintain a normal childhood. Although the book describes real scenarios and situations, the characters are all rabbits. This is a MF where a mermaid swallows different sea creatures. What's interesting is the little facts are given about the creatures, like how an eel's body creates fluorescent light that are included. I can see this book being used in a guided reading. Snowflake Bentley by Jacqueline Briggs Martin is a Biographical picture book about a young boy who developed a fascination of snow crystals through pictures.
