This MF book is a sweet story that I think a lot of students can relate to. The main character is struggling to find his favorite book which many students might also be struggling with. Not everyone has an immediate connection to books and they need a little encouragement. https://www.readingrockets.org/article/reading-aloud-build-comprehension #UCFLAE3414SP2

Emiranda this book would be a great read aloud with a comprehension focus. UDL 3.2 can be used when having students identify big events in the story. EL 14 can be used when reading the book using proper ELL reading skills like speaking slowly. 4y
Karissacurrier I love the concept of this book! I feel like students would love it as well. The UDL principle and ESOL strategy you chose work really well with the story! 4y
DrSpalding Why do you think this is modern fantasy? What happens in this book that could not happen in the real world? Your English learner and universal design principles work well. 4y

This MF book is a staple in any classroom regardless of age and it is my all time favorite children's book. This book would be a great read aloud to do at the beginning and end of the year as a motivational story. It is encouraging to people of all ages. I would use this book the day before testing to give students some encouragement. #UCFLAE3414SP2

Emiranda https://www.readingrockets.org/news/4-tools-inspire-perseverance-student-writers UDL 6.1 can be used to apply goal setting. After the reading students can take time to set achievable goals for themselves. EL 3 is used with this book to encourage positive thinking. 4y
DrSpalding This book will be given as graduation gifts over the next month! Reading rockets is an excellent resource and this one regarding perseverance is fantastic. 4y

Goldilocks and the three bears is a classic TL picture book and also a caldecott award winner. This story has great potential to be an excellent reader's theater. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1w3lELG9px74yhIE1GzpJbRf4O9hq68dh/view #UCFLAE3414SP2 UDL 5.3 is used as the students are rehearsing their lines prior to performing to the class. EL 2 is shown as the students are collaborating in small groups.

DrSpalding Your summaries can be limited at times. Be sure to fulfill all the requirements of the rubric. 4y
