Boring..simply just boring. I don‘t even know how I finished it but I did and the ending made me even more unhappy that I didn‘t DNF it. I‘ve loved Hawkins other books but this one for me was truly a dud.

This was good in the sense that I wanted a quick read before starting another series. The book itself was meh, predictable and the end was 😒😑 I‘m happy to have read it so I can get it off my bookshelf 🤣

Even as a #longtimefed when I knew there was a chance he (yes, always a man) would say a sentence or two that pertained to my organization, no matter who was giving the SOTU address, I wouldn‘t watch. It‘s been mostly performative for a while now.

Tonight I might run the floor cleaner to drown out the TV in the other room, but more likely I‘ll watch Netflix with headphones.

melissajayne I‘m not going to watch either 6d
TieDyeDude It's just a group calisthenics class anymore, though I have a feeling the Dems won't be getting much of a workout this time. If any organization still utilized fact-checkers, I would have felt sorry for the long night they have ahead for them. 6d
dabbe I'd rather get five root canals. All at once. 👊🏻❣️👊🏻 (edited) 6d

Susanita @TieDyeDude Independent media are the fact checkers now. 6d
Susanita @dabbe @AmyG Andy Borowitz said: Tonight‘s speech is called a Joint Address because the viewer can only address with a joint. (Not my thing but to each their own!) 6d
AmyG @Susanita Ha! 😂I read one where they said “the media expects the address to have the highest ratings in Russia”. 6d

No. Just no. I want to throw the book across the room, but it‘s a library book, so I‘ll treat it with reverence. I‘ve never wanted to smother a character more than Grace. I was hoping she would meet a violent death.

3-2-25: My 16th finished book of 2025!Becker, a curator at Fairburn House, has loved the works of artist Vanessa Chapman since he was a young boy.Once she passed she left all of her art to the House and he is now in charge. When showing a sculpture containing a mysterious bone gets flagged by an anthropologist,Becker must venture to Chapman‘s home/studio on Eris Island. That‘s where he meets Vanessa‘s friend and protector Grace. Good except the end.

After finishing throne of glass and not really enjoying it (too many huge battle scenes saved at the last minute), I wanted something completely different... so picked up a Chattam book, this one is more horror and supernatural than expected, full of Stephen King and HP Lovecraft references.

What a crazy story in the best way. The fact that it was loosely based on a true story had me down the rabbit hole for all the details. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

LoverOfLearning Sounds like a great read! Thanks for sharing. 2w

Airframe: A Novel | Michael Crichton

Mehso-so

Forty-something single mother, Casey Singleton, works at Norton Aircraft & when a report comes in of an issue with flight TPA 545, Casey is on the team asked to investigate. An initial contact with the pilot has him blaming turbulence but this isn't backed up by external evidence, & the flight crew are suddenly whisked away before Casey has a chance to conduct interviews. (continued)

OutsmartYourShelf When the team finally enters the fuselage it is obvious that something strange happened aboard the flight leaving two people dead & several others badly injured. Just what is being covered up, by who, & why?

There was a lot of technical jargon & many acronyms in this book but it was still surprisingly interesting to read. Most of the narrative is from Casey's point of view, although a little later in the book we get several chapters from a local

OutsmartYourShelf reporter's viewpoint. The technology (faxes, beepers, etc) are like going back to the stone age now & I would have guessed 1980s as a publishing date, yet it was released in 1996. It's not action-packed but it's a decent thriller for its age.

3.25⭐- it was above average.

Just arrived today 😍 my toxic trait is immediately wanting to abandon my current read for these. One book at a time I guess *kicks wall*
