Mmmmmeh. I didn't want this to be meh, but that is my overall impression. Maybe if I was in the target demographic, teens, I would have felt more invested. Too much high school drama. I've been a fan of limited colour palettes before, but this one left me cold. Didn't feel any particular way about the art style either. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Here we focus on Damian and his brother Robin, and also the 'training arc' for the others. I feel...eh abt Max. I like her but for someone who doesn't like to be touched wo consent, she's very touchy herself. Esp with someone who she's kissing?? Is this what the dating scene is like now?? Lol. Damian could also chill a bit more but also I *get it*. Starfire is next but tbh the story feels directionless and I'm not excited, should I continue? Hmmm

The rejected title!! I actually liked this volume more than Raven's. Since BB is all about transforming, it's a power that's now visual and therefore easier to show. I do think the stories are very...high school drama-y, but it's not all bad. I also like how diverse the side characters have been! I saw a wheelchair, a prosthetic, Tank has dyslexia, and most of the people were brown! I'm excited for when BB & Raven meet!!

I remember being so DEVASTED when I got rejected for one of these books on Netgalley but NGL, it wasn't that good?? Maybe it gets better but the art here, esp when the characters powers are involved, feel very unmagical. I'm also confused if this is related to teen titans or its own thing. Makes me want to watch TTs!! And the black magic/calling of the ancestors reminded me of Legendborn, which I love. An underwhelming read but continuing

This series is so fun! As ever, Beast Boy is my favorite.

Such a good addition to the Teen Titans graphic novel series, I loved how Robin was incorporated into the story and the elements of friendship and forgiveness between the characters. As usual Raven and Beast Boy were my favourites, and I love their relationship. The art was spectacular and I loved the small details like Gar's animal tops and Raven's moody style. I can't wait for the Starfire book to release spring 2024!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A necessary filler story to introduce Robin, though it wasn‘t solely focused on him. It was an exercise in Teen Titan team building and brother bonding. Love the art as always! So looking forward to “Starfire” next spring!
