#TIY Well, another shameful fact about how Native Americans were treated. “Slavery was permitted under an 1850 California law that allowed white people to buy Native American children as “apprentices,” and to “bid” on Native American children who were declared “vagrant” and oblige them to work off the bid.” It wasn‘t repealed entirely until 1937! 😱

There were a lot of things I learned from this book like three dogs were also killed in the Salem Witch Trials 😢.
I also did not know that Elizabeth Proctor lost everything after John‘s death because a forged will cut her out. The court refused to hear her case because she had been charged with witchcraft and was dead to the law.
