I am starting this #Swiss classic, which I've only discovered last week, thanks to a random YouTube video... I am not usually a fan of crime fiction, but the novel looked really interesting and worth pursuing. We'll see how I fare with it 😁

The title might be taken the wrong way, so it's important to explain that this is not a racist pamphlet. It's a 1922 #Swiss novella about a feud between a
Valaisan, French-speaking village and a Bernese, German-speaking one. Very short but very unsettling. I wanted to finish it quickly (too stressful!), but couldn't: the writing is too dense and has to be parsed carefully.
Picture is a still from the 1937 film, called The Kidnapping in English.
Somewhere in the #Swiss mountains there is this idyllic village of happy and deeply religious people. It hasn‘t always been that way. Centuries ago the villagers sold their soul to the devil and we all know that means trouble 😈. A black spider prepares its arrival... A very creepy novella and a fun read.

This one's from my TBR shelf. Well, actually from the TBR shelf in head where I have this big list named “Books that I should read some day“. It's about a pianist who walks out of his own #concert saying “That's it.“ The premise sounds promising.
Also, I'm not sure what's up with me and all the #Swiss writers I post about lately...
