As a #longtimefed I served under 7 POTUS. I only voted for 3 of them, but I did my job the same regardless. I took an oath to uphold the Constitution when I first joined the government and every time I moved to another office. My employer was the American people and not POTUS.

Higher level managers and administrators are already political appointees. There‘s no need to root out the “disloyal” employees. The result would be the real “deep state.”

Chelsea.Poole Thank you for sharing. 2w
Leftcoastzen I worked as a contract worker for NPS & also a NPO connected to a historical park. This is insanity. All workers I knew could have made more money in private sector, service was part of the job that made it more meaningful! 2w
Leftcoastzen They are not hiring seasonal workers for places like Yosemite & Yellowstone which cannot function w/o them. Did not catch where , was listening to NPR . They didn‘t hire seasonal firefighters so a prescribed burn to protect wild/urban interface is abandoned. It was the only window to do the prescribed burn till next year , obviously raised risk for everyone. 2w

Susanita @Leftcoastzen You‘re kind of stealing my thunder for future posts 😉 but that‘s okay! I was pleased (if that‘s the right word under the circumstances) that some of the protests this week happened at NPS sites such as the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. 2w
Leftcoastzen Yosemite too! It‘s been many years so probably won‘t be stealing too much of your thunder! 😏 6k IRS workers, really?! 2w
Susanita @Leftcoastzen Laying off IRS workers in the middle of tax season! WTAF! They are the weirdest mix of unspeakably evil and unbelievably stupid. 2w
Leftcoastzen I hate the thought but starting to think the goal is totally break it , declare martial law . 2w

Wow. An amazing book. Between the constant cycle of mysteries being solved and bringing up only more mysteries as well as the character development, it's been an amazing read. The action scenes are well written and everything in between has so much life to it. Totally a pick.

I'm almost finished with my second book, called Behind The Lines. Just revising and editing. Of course, right when I finish, I get all of this inspiration suddenly. The book I'm reading, Hideout, by Watt Key, has been a big boost. This second book is about our characters stuck behind enemy lines. Whether it's Zach's constant worry, Winter's optimistic attitude, or Jackson's readiness for action, this book is gonna turn out great.

mrferro88 That's awesome, Ben! Glad you're finding inspiration in the books you're reading. And thank you for those character snippets. It sounds like a good read! 1mo
John B Sounds interesting man have fun reading that book 1mo

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A story of knowing what you don‘t want, rather than what you do. Three generations of tough, somewhat shunned, women, all unique in their strengths. Dorothy, aka Donkey, steals the show. I loved the symbolism of the rattler. An ouroboros; the circle of life. I picked this up after hearing Campbell speak at Southern Festival of Books. She‘s so sharp and funny! Meeting her was an absolute pleasure. Will def read more from her!

Campbell is a new-to-me author, and hearing her speak was such a treat, I had to buy her newest and meet her. She‘s a whole vibe and I love it!

britt_brooke @LeahBergen Her donkey stamp is the best! She was a real trip to hear speak. So funny and smart, too. A whole vibe! Have you read any of her books? I‘m in the middle of this one now. 4mo

Well written, but rather strange story of a swamp-living family and a search for resolution after grief. Kind of blunt and somewhat off-putting in a poetic way.
Could be a little shorter too. It took me a while to read.

Pic of a Michigan swamp on a recent #audiowalk as I listened to this deeply satisfying novel. Healer Herminie Zook, her precocious granddaughter, questionable fathers, and complicated independent women connect with the land and each other in the Great Missasauga Swamp. Loved it. Plenty of #chilling moments. #WickedWhispers #MittenLitten @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

JamieArc The author‘s husband was recently on Jeopardy. It was pretty cool to see! 5mo
Eggs Gorgeous pic and pretty photo👏🏻👏🏻 5mo
lynneamch @JamieArc Hi Jamie. I think that was a different Bonnie. Bonne Gamus. But, yes, it was cool to watch. Hope they invite him back for invitational competition. 5mo
JamieArc @lynneamch You‘re totally right 🤦🏻‍♀️. I remember that now. 5mo

#wondrouswednesday

1. The tagged is a children‘s book I read when I was a child.

2. I‘m supposed to go to Guam for work. Since I‘ll be there the whole month of July, it will be a kind of vacation. Other than that, I don‘t take vacation in the summer.

3. Movement - I started the Habit Nest‘s stretching daily journal & I am feeling better

Airykah13 I have one of the Habit Nest‘s strength programs. I‘ll have to check out their stretching program 9mo
wanderinglynn @Airykah13 I‘ve done 7 days so far & I like it. I expect to see some good improvements by the end of the program. 9mo
Eggs Enjoy Guam 🇬🇺 👌🏼👏🏻 9mo
