#ScariestSceneFromBook The first one that comes to mind is the encounter with the man in the black suit in the short story The Man in the Black Suit. That scene creeps me out every time I read it. #StephenKing17 @Josie @Gayan

My pick for #scariestscenefrombook was a tie between the opening scene depicted on this cover of IT, and the ending scene in Revival, both of which freaked me the heck out. #stephenking17
#scariestscenefrombook In Misery, right after we realize that Annie Wilkes is completely bat shit crazy, and Paul gets out of his room to look around I was terrified she was going to catch him. Every time I read that scene I'm so nervous I can't sit still.
SPOILERS FOR IT ... There's a scene in the book It where grown-up Beverly visits her childhood home. An old lady now lives there, but invites her in & allows her to look around. Over tea, Bev begins to realize the old woman is not who/what she thought and her nightmare unfolds before her. The scene sneaks up on you and is legit frightening. It's King's signature scares at its best. So that's my pick for #ScariestSceneFromBook #stephenking17 #day26
#StephenKing17 #day26 #scariestscenefrombook There's a lot of scenes from each book that have featured in nightmares over the years, the topiary garden from The Shining, the sewer from It,Ralph hovering at the window in Salems Lot,Paul Sheldon getting his ankles pulverised in Misery. But the one that stayed with me is a short story called The Raft from this book. That thing floating over & consuming people.I haven't gone nightswimming since*shudder*
