Steven and their dad are allergic so it gets pretty tricky. The cat is officially out of the bag when the twins think Misty the cat is sick, so they tell their mom. Turns out Misty is having kittens and the whole family has a picnic in the room while watching her give birth. 😆 ⬇️

pickBook 2 in the Sweet Valley Kids series has Jess and Liz taking the class hamster Tinkerbell home with them over winter break. Jess thinks he looks like a rat and doesn‘t want anything to do with him. Saint Liz is the model pet owner, naturally. Chaos ensues when Jess accidentally leaves the cage open and they buy a new one to try to pass it off as Tinkerbell. All is well when they find Tink a few weeks later, so now the class has 2 hamsters. 🐹
pickI recently found a treasure trove of free books online (will add link in comments) and I have spent the last few days downloading every Sweet Valley book they had. I decided to read through the SV Kids series along with my SVT read-through and SV Senior Year. Yes, I am a nerd but I‘ve never read this series and I love the feeling of nostalgia I get when I read any Sweet Valley book. 🤓 I fully credit Sweet Valley books for my love of reading. ⬇️
pickThe first #SweetValleyTwins book! Now in 6th grade, I remember this series a lot better than the #SVK one, so I am even more excited for this part of my #SweetValleyReRead project! Somehow, Steven isn‘t only two grades ahead but is a high school freshman! In this first one, Liz struggles with finding her independence from Jessica, leading her to start the Sixers, a newspaper while Jess joins the prestigious Unicorn Club for the prettiest girls!
pickWell, the whole series shifts with this book from third-person to first! Though I hadn‘t previously read all of the other #SVK books, from here on they‘re all new to me! It‘s a bit jarring (all the more so because this one has Jessica convincing Elizabeth to act stuck-up on account of their new Sweet Valley Cable TV show!). It‘s a weird book from Liz‘s point of view & one that is full of bickering and fights, though obviously it all ends well.
pickIt‘s the fourth #SweetValleyHalloween of the #SVK series and the class is headed on a field trip to the Enchanted Forest theme park. Charlie Cashman won‘t stop teasing Jessica about a spooky goblin haunting the park. She‘s feeling braver after battling her nightmares, she‘s still a little apprehensive. But she gets her own by teasing Charlie back that he has a crush on her! Plus more costumes are mentioned—Liz is the Penguin & Jessica a mermaid!
