“Ahead in the dark she noticed a figure illuminated by the sodium-yellow street lights: a bag lady pushing a rusty pram piled with clothes, cardboard, plastic bags- a perennial traveler from here to nowhere.”

There is no #RoadToNowhere when #LondonCalling
In other words, if its set in London, it automatically goes onto my TBR. 😀

My weird brain thought, it must be dreadful to encounter a dead body in a locked room while on holiday. Unless you are Hercules Poirot, of course.

Hopefully it‘s not a #RoadtoNowhere for this Irish immigrant, abolitionist, and 2 slaves in this novel of 19th century America.

“It had the tangled floor plan common to all hospitals, seemingly designed by someone who believed in the healing power of watching confused visitors aimlessly wander around hallways.”

Ever seen the movie Little Monsters, with Fred Savage and Howie Mandel? I always think of that movie when I hear #RoadToNowhere, it played over the climatic chase scene.

A bit of a stretch but the Burma Railway felt like the road to nowhere while the POWs were building it in WW2. And it says road in the title - so that‘s close enough 😋
I loved this book. I know a number of people disliked the jumps into present and past but I needed those jumps to give my head some space from the POW experience! So many memorable scenes in this, some harrowing, some filled with love.

When I hear #RoadToNowhere I think of quirky road trips which makes me think of this book I read & was on a book tour for in 2017. About a road trip where 72-year-old Johnny Ribkins drives all over Florida with his niece Eloise digging up money he buried to pay off his mobster boss & teaching her about the Ribkins family & their unique gifts. Good fun & since it's been a year since I used it for a prompt, I can't resist it. 😆
