Mehso-so

The actor Max Greenfield writes a book about not wanting to read a book. Though considered a #PictureBook , there are less illustrations but more word graphic designs. I can see the concept appealing to kids looking for a laugh or who can relate to a lack of interest in reading a book. Just meh for me. #BBRC #LetterI

Sorry this is late getting posted, but I received my #HHS package in the mail on Friday! I was on my way camping for the Thanksgiving weekend when I picked it up and had *zero* service the entire time. No matter where I walked and how high in the air I held my phone, no dice. Lol
I think it is from @ShelleyBooksie but I didn't see a Litsy handle on the box. I was scared to open in case it wasn't wrapped. @wanderinglynn #HHS23

Mehso-so

3 ⭐X in the alpha tails gives us an x-ray fish. One who not only can see with x-rays and see-through items, but also has a see-through body. This book does what it set up to do, which is to give a story highly focused on the letter X. This may be scraping the bottom of a very old bucket but in need of a X book this one will do.

Overall, I liked the presentation of letter groupings in this book - a great way to highlight letters commonly placed together in the English language. But, though rare in English, there are words in which “q” is not paired with “u”, and I think mentioning at least one would have helped to illustrate that “q” is not always dependent on “u”. #BBRC #PictureBook #LetterQ

LibrarianRyan I did like this book. It was unique 2y

It‘s time for another round of #LMPBC! I‘ve signed up for some thrillers (Group N), and also hope some of you will join me in reading some biographies/autobiographies/memoirs (Group S). This is such a fun way to enjoy books. I hope you‘ll join us!

4 🌟 I was greatly surprised how much I liked this book. Most easy readers are meant to practice reading, and don‘t really look at telling a good story. That is not the case here. This is a rebus reader (meaning some of the words are replaced by pictures). It rhymes, and has a fully flushed cadence that never skips a beat. The illustrations feel like they are from 2000, but it doesn‘t matter, the story does not age (only the book cover).

4 🌟 This is a fun book of word play. It might be hard to do at story time, but it could be fun in a class room setting where they are studying words. U needs some time off from Q, so they take a break. But it causes other letters to break up as well. The author did a great job with all the puns and word play, I just wish they could have found a way to use Q words without the U. They do exist. It would have been a great way to introduce them
