It would appear that my reading style for 2026 is chaotic. I'm actively reading six print books and one audiobook, and I haven't started the current #kindredspiritsbuddyread because I literally just got it. So far this month, I finished last month's #bobwhitebuddies book and the tagged book. The Trixie book was good, and I loved the DeWitt. I work in the book industry and the crux of this story was perfect.

#RoadTrip See the sun ball in the clouds? And the sunbeams at the horizon? Beauty all around us.

I bought this book on the rec of a lady I casually met at the paperback table of our indie bookstore. I asked if she had read The Correspondent- she had not! And she rec'd this one to me. Perfect length for a quick drive north to Manhappiness KS 🌻

xicanti Manhappiness is such a great place name. It makes me think of a version of Manhattan where everyone is just overflowing with joy. 6d

This has been a wonderful, very poetic book. It describes the life of two kids born in and off the desert one hundered years apart. Both face struggles and end up back where they belong - in the desert. This book is a beautiful allegory of the desert, I haven‘t been something that aesthetic in a long time.

I found this a very engaging and enjoyable take. I liked the combination of fact with fiction. There‘s a smattering of romance and a soupçon of the supernatural. I enjoyed reading about Moroccan culture, it‘s very colourful and descriptive. It‘s beautifully written and very evocative of the time periods. The characters are well drawn. The ending maybe a little rushed but that‘s nitpicking. All in all a wonderful read.

I have an ARC of The Tenth Gift from when the title was ‘Crossed Bones‘. I‘ve had it on my TBR for quite a few years and the title has now changed, I don‘t know why, probably to do with reading trends at the time it was published. I‘m reading it with my online book group, https://thereadingloft.groups.io/g/main. The theme is ‘pirates‘ as it‘s ‘Talk Like a Pirate Day‘ on 19 September! 🏴‍☠️

I am loving this series so much. Love the characters growth and the adventures in each book. This book was very interesting on how the plot was done. Can't wait to read the next book. I rated the book a 4 out of 5 stars.

Finally finished this chunky book for #BookedInTime #SpanishCivilWar @Cuilin

When I saw last month‘s theme I wanted to re-read this book. I wasn‘t sure if my fond memories of it were because it was a good book or if it was the book I brought with me the first time I traveled without my kids. Sometimes just being able to think makes a book better.

Happy to say it held up and I was just as into this spy novel in translation as I was 11 years ago.

Cuilin Oh I love when that happens!! Yay! ✅🎉 7mo
ChaoticMissAdventures I remember really loving this too. So glad to hear it held up! 7mo
