pickIf you like reading about the search for mythical creatures, you probably will enjoy this book. The search is on for a creature in Lake Michigan. The mystery was fun. I liked the characters, especially Morgan and her dog Newt. I gave it 4/5.
so-soThis was ok, but more of a cozy mystery than I was expecting. I wanted it to be more spooky! Another review called it Scooby-Doo plus Hallmark and I think that‘s a good description. The narrator of the audiobook did not help. Very monotone.

pickI haven't read any other books in the series but I think I will look them up. This was an interesting murder mystery and you're not sure of the killer's identity until near the end. Its clever how everything ties in together. The plot is a steady build up to a clever ending. 3*
bailedThis isn‘t bad, but there‘s something about the detective character that makes me not want to continue. Also the main protagonist makes some questionable choices. Very cool premise but I bailed at 40%
so-soKind of fun, but the writing was overly descriptive. Lots of unnecessary detail, more telling than showing. And I could have done without the romantic subplot. If you‘re in the mood for something that feels a bit like a Hallmark movie with a dash of Scooby-Doo, might be worth a try.
Door County is 3.5 hours north of me, I live in Southern WI. Only been there once but I want to go again someday soon. Looking forward to a cozy, contemporary mystery! 🍂🍁
pickThis was a fun mystery about Morgan, a cryptozoologist, who is hired by a local police chief to help them investigate suspicious deaths in the Great Lakes. Loved the characters and the dog. It was fast paced and kept me hooked, wanting to know what would happen next. Looking forward to the next book out later this year.
