I found this an absorbing story with great main characters. Their relationship was beautifully drawn, & the early sense of menace in Kate's abusive marriage was almost overwhelming. But there were so many things I just didn't believe, and the big ending had less impact than the quieter storylines.

150 pages of pure love, heartbreak, unease, longing & despair. It‘s beautiful but tragic. Highly recommend it if you haven‘t yet read it. #lgbtqiamc #booked2018

We need a "meh" sticker. I was so excited for this book based on the description, but once Alex goes to Los Lagos, I was borrrrrrrrrrred. Bored bored bored. I guess I'd been excited for brujas in Brooklyn (you know, like the name of the series) and didn't care about fully magical realms. And the LGBT romance felt forced. Meh.

A sweet coming of age love story about a gay teen in the Atlanta suburbs. Told partly through anonymous emails between two teen boys at the same school who have not yet met. Found it poignant and charming and an accurate picture of young love. #lgbtqiamc #booked2018

I thought I actually might get through six prompts this quarter, but I didn‘t quite get there. Still, I‘m very happy with these five. Four of them are picks and two are currently in my top five for the year. 😄
