This should have been a fast and easy read. But then the Olympics happened, I worked for 7 days straight and I fell into a hole named fan-fiction. So this took me way longer than it should have. Felt like the storyline was a bit blunt. Soft pick.

You can't go wrong with a Jo Spain novel. However I have discovered a book ick. I don't like reading 'Look Luke' or any combination of those words 🫤 it seemed to be used a lot.

Next kindle read . . . Getting round to this one after I thought I'd started it but had actually started something else!

Finally finished! These long mysteries in German are great language practice for me, but I don‘t read them quickly and often have a German-English dictionary app open when I am stumped. Even so, it was very satisfying to finish the 6th book in this mystery series. Ann Kathrin Klaasen is an engaging protagonist because of her grit tempered with humor.

LiteraryinPA Good for you!! I should try that strategy for practicing Spanish. 5mo
KAO @LiteraryinLawrence I recommend it! I have also tried reading a German novel while also listening to the audiobook at the same time. It‘s tricky, however, if the audiobook is abridged or changed in some way from the original text! (edited) 5mo

I have decided to start reading books in Norwegian and Danish to keep my brain alert. It‘s quite easy for native Swedish speakers. Good book, set in a fascinating environment.

This was a lucky dip and way better than I expected. The characters were a little loopy

Jo Spain is so reliable for a twisty domestic mystery. The one was a bit more fast paced than some of her others and had more changes in direction. I didn‘t really connect with any of the characters but nevertheless it was a propulsive narrative. Entertaining, easy reading.

I have loved every JP Delaney book I have read so far, this one whilst still a good read its wasn't the usual compelling thriller I have come to expect from JP,it was more of a slow burn type and I just don't usually rate slow burn thrillers as highly as I want a thriller to grab me from at least the first 2 chapters and hold me captive and almost holding my breath until the ending.Life is short,I need my thrillers to be compelling and haunt me.
