All of these books I've read feature characters that suffer from memory loss and are in some amount of danger because they don't know who their enemies are. Whether from alcohol, traumatic injury, PSTD, angry witches, or evil doctors--the reasons for their amnesia may differ, but all of them have enemies who put them in peril.?
pick#knowyourenemy could simply refer to the Nazis in this novel. But when is Vonnegut ever simple? Howard Campbell Jr., Nazi propagandist and American spy may have helped win WWII for the United States, but there's a cost to playing a part too well that Campbell's confession describes. Somehow both sharply funny and grimly serious simultaneously. Also, depressingly relevant to current issues in the U.S. #rocktober @BarbaraBB @Cinfhen
