Loyalty in Death | J. D. Robb
post image

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR Ch.6-10: things are getting more serious as a group calling themselves Cassandra blows up one of Roarke‘s buildings and targets another. They see Eve as their adversary and she has ties to the highest “capitalist” of them all. Eve is trying to stop another bombing disaster like one that happened earlier in the century. ⬇️

StayCurious She‘s distracted from the Branson murder. But we find out that the brother of the victim is abusing his wife. Who happens to be the object of affection for Peabody‘s brother Zeke. What a complicated situation! 6d

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR Ch.1-5: this one has an interesting start where Eve is called to a case where a man is dead and his lover/killer is awaiting the cops and ready to confess. At first we think this will be open and shut but it becomes more complex and there is the question of justice being served and what is the true motive. ⬇️

StayCurious Also, there is another case that Eve is reluctant to get involved in but finds herself being sucked in: one of her weasels reports that his friend was killed after making bombs for someone. This is probably linked to the creepy prologue. We also get to meet Peabody‘s adorable brother. It‘s great to see her in family mode. But is he linked to Eve‘s case? (edited) 2w
LiseWorks I love that we get to know Peabody more. I just hope her brother isn't involved in getting to Eve because that prologue was intense 2w
TheAromaofBooks @LiseWorks - It's so fun to see another facet of Peabody. I really enjoy how much she loves her family, even though she's chosen to take a path very different from theirs. But if something happens to her brother I'm going to be super upset!! 2w
StayCurious @TheAromaofBooks @LiseWorks I can see Zeke being used as a pawn in a grander scheme - he‘s sweetly naive 2w

There are four short stories that range in plot and conclusions. All of the stories are interesting and addictive, I wish they were longer I‘ll have to look into the other authors and see what else is available really enjoyed this collection

A short novela for our #IndeathLongReadathon. It was good and followed the previous novel right in the timeline of Christmas. #SeriesLove24 #ReadAway24. @Andrew65 @TheSpineView @DieAReader @GHABI4ROSES @StayCurious

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR This was a good addition to the series even though it was quick. I enjoyed Eve going up against someone she knew instead of the unsub. It definitely made this case more personal. And more so when Mira was taken. I do think the climax was a bit abrupt though, after such an intense build up. And onto the next! Thanks for sticking with us🖤

Librarybelle For a shorter story, this was good! 2mo
LiseWorks Yeah I liked it. 2mo
TheAromaofBooks I really enjoyed this one - short and snappy with some pretty intense moments. I didn\'t think Mira was going to get killed, but I was scared that she would be hurt!! 2mo

I love that this one picks up immediately following the previous book—murder takes no time off for the holidays. Robb packs so much into this shortened story. Great story! And, the bad guy is pretty twisted. #InDeathLongReadalong

PageShifter I had planned to join this readalong but didn\'t have time. But I am following your journey 🥳🥰 2mo
