#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR Ch.11-15: the more we learn about the victim Draco, the more he turns out to have been a really rotten guy. An altercation from 24 years ago is revealed and as Eve digs, she may have found more unsettling information about Draco and his last lover Carly. Secrets never stay buried. And this one is a real killer. Meanwhile, Roarke gives Mcnab dating advice to woo Peabody, and Eve tries to woo Roarke with a romantic dinner

LiseWorks I absolutely loved Eve's attempt to woo Roarke. It was really romantic, and the surprise on Roarke nearly killed her effort. I'm so glad it worked out. 14h
Librarybelle Me too, @LiseWorks ! It was such a charming interlude in the story! 14h
TheAromaofBooks I loved that part of Roarke's advice was to contrast rather than compete with the other guy, i.e. be yourself. McNabb and Peabody are so freaking cute together. now

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR Ch.6-10: Eve has a very interesting cast of characters to deal with - some of whom hated the deceased. We find out the victim was pretty much an a—hole and a sexual deviant (poor Nadine). He had a tape of her that if it got out would be pretty bad. What was he planning to do with it? Was that why he called her for dinner? Or was it just to discuss old times? ⬇️

StayCurious Then the newest victim, made to look a suicide - good thing Eve‘s not easily fooled. What do we think of Charles and Peabody‘s platonic relationship? I hope Eve stays out of it. But if McNabb finds out, will he be relieved or smug? (edited) 1w
Librarybelle I‘m really enjoying this one! It‘s a fun way to craft a mystery. As for Peabody‘s triangle—I wonder how this is going to go! 1w
TheAromaofBooks Eve palming Nadine off for the makeover made me laugh 😂 7d

#InDeathLongReadalong #IDLR Ch.1-5: All the world‘s a stage…we‘re thrust into the world of the theatre and the actors that live and breathe it. A man is killed in front of Eve and 3000 other people and the question is not who did the actual deed but who switched out the prop knife with a real one. The victim is much hated so there seem to be a lot of motives. ⬇️

StayCurious And who happens to hold a grudge over the victim for a past slight-Nadine Furst - she was in the wrong place at the wrong time and the real killer may use that to his advantage. This one is set to become dramatic, folks. 2w
LiseWorks Yes, and of course, Roarke is involved. 2w
TheAromaofBooks The Nadine angle is a fun one. And I'm so rooting for McNab + Peabody 😂 2w

2✨ This book should not have taken me as long as it did. It was one of the first books I read in 2024 and the last book I finished. Set as a five books by five different authors I wanted to give each story a chance. ILove was probably my favorite out of each one, but they all were not bad. Being so short with a fantastical world in each world building and being longer to explore is my main issues with all the short stories. First giveaway of 2025!
