pickAs always, this book made me cry at the end. It‘s such a powerful moment, and it‘s really the turning point where Harry really becomes an adult. He finally realises he‘s the only one who is going to turn things around, and no one can act for him. He must choose to be brave and do what is right, even when it‘s hard and the last thing he wants to do. I just want to hug him at the end.

GingerAntics @Linsy I think there is hope in the underlying love story. She doesn‘t even really get into it, but the hint of it is there. Ginny loves him and always has. As soon as he survives the second battle of Hogwarts, I have a feeling they‘re right back together. I always thought that in the end, if for no other reason, he faced Voldemort, thinking he was going to die, so others could take him down and Ginny could be safe. 4y
Linsy @GingerAntics He can't take her down with him. His selflessness is inspiring. I'm so used to MCs saying they shouldn't be with someone but doing it anyway that this is a breath of fresh air (that I'd honestly kind of glossed over before). 4y
GingerAntics @Linsy oh no, he‘d never take her down with him. It is very refreshing to see that version of humanity and manhood. It may be one more way he‘s similar to Tom. They both go it alone in the end. The one that can make that choice and still love, wins. 4y
GingerAntics @Linsy I think it‘s easy to gloss over it because Rowling doesn‘t really make a thing of it. She doesn‘t draw attention to it. It‘s there for readers to notice or not. You can understand the story without it. I think that‘s why it has so much appeal for for many age groups. 4y
