Gave my Mom this book last Christmas after reading it earlier in 2016. Will try to give her the second book in the series this year, though I'd like to finish it myself so I can warn her about any specific chapters (the h.j. in chapter 4 being a prime example).

You know when you gift someone a book that was very special to you and you know is perfect for them and then they never read it. Or worse, they don't even acknowledge receiving it in the mail until you ask them. That's it...Frankie Presto...a gift to a wonderful musician friend. The other two were wonderfully received. :)

I was blown away the first time I read this book. It was my first Valente novel and I was made an instant fan for life! The story is so very, very charming and witty and perfect and oh my God I love it.
Its also the book I have bought and given away the most. I feel like everyone should read and experience it. It got bought twice this year for Christmas presents to give to friends kiddos.
