I learned to write (and not make an entire story one long sentence - I was 7) by writing. This approach makes perfect sense to me. Love that one of the few schools to offer a PhD in creative writing using these ideas and exercises (because the dean of that program wrote the book). I feel like that legitimises this way of learning and improving your writing.

Bought this book at the same time as Wonderbook, but I‘ve used it several times since getting it. I‘m looking forward to hanging out with my characters with these writing exercises. Between this book and Wonderbook, I definitely prefer this book. It‘s less about do‘s and don‘t‘s, and more about the joy of writing to expand your abilities.
