My #Week3Update for #LittenListen is the biggest week yet for me. Two were NF true crime(both 8hrs plus 10 bonus)and the last was a historical fiction(19pts plus 10 bonus)so all up it was 65pts! Add on the 73pts from weeks1&2 & my #PointsTotal is 138. Plus the 190pts from my #TriviaGame all up it‘s 328pts!🙌

aperfectmjk Looking good! A little of a week left to crush it! I'm going to try and think up some new ways to get some last minute points. 4y

My #Week2Update for #LittenListen is 43pts! Plus #Week1 it‘s 73pts Total. it‘s an improvement on Week1 which is awesome. I‘m currently listening to another audiobook flat on my back in bed(stupid back) so next week will probably be even better as it‘s easier to read audio in that position. That‘s what I love about the format, accessibility🎧

Any other podcast listeners here? What are you guys listening to these days (both bookish and not)? I just discovered The Argument from NYT and Therapy For Black Girls. Therapy For Black Girls is pretty self-explanatory but The Argument is basically a podcast in which a couple of Times‘ columnists debate opposite sides of hot topic political debates, very civilly, so good to hear these days.

LiterRohde Sorry for the long list. I can explain any, if you want.

📍 The Allusionist

📍 Dan Carlin‘s Hardcore History

📍 Dan Carlin‘s Hardcore History: Addendum

📍 The History of English Podcast

📍 Lexicon Valley

📍 A Million Little Gods

📍 The Other Stories

📍 A Way with Words

📍 Welcome to Night Vale

EchoLogical @Kayla.Adriena @tournevis You guys can participate too! I tag new folks every week but it's open to all. #socialsunday 6y
EchoLogical @LiterRohde A friend of mine has been trying to get me to listen to Welcome to Night Vale for the longest but can't really tell me why. LoL 6y

papertimemachines I haven't tried any! Are the ones pinned at the bottom suggested podcasts? 6y
papertimemachines Oh nvm, just saw it was a comment, it looked like part of the post at first. 6y
LiterRohde @EchoLogical It‘s weird fiction at its best. It is totally bizarre. It makes little sense and a lot of sense at the same time. It is so funny. And the narrator has the best voice. It‘s hard to explain. You need to experience it. 6y
tournevis A bunch of tech stuff, a couple of Radio-Canada shows, Do by Friday (so not sfw), FemFREQ (also nsfw), The Dice Tower, Writing Excuses, and my fav of all Métis In Space. 6y
LiterRohde @EchoLogical Sorry. I just noticed this was supposed to be one of those daily games. Would you like me to repost instead of comment? 6y
Tamra Oh, I‘ll definitely check those out! I love podcasts, both bookish and nonbookish. I recently discovered Black Market Reads and Code Switch. I don‘t know what took so long! 6y
mreads Bookish; reading glasses, reading envy, reading the end, for real, the librarian is in, and reading women. Also non bookish; think again, on being and who shot ya. 6y
EchoLogical @LiterRohde Not necessary. I'll definitely check out your recommendations. A Million Little God's sounds interesting. 6y
EchoLogical @tournevis I'm definitely not tech-savvy at all but I'll look into some of those you mentioned while my daughter's at school. 😉 6y
EchoLogical @Tamra My husband and I listen to Code Switch together! Black Market Reads sounds like a good one. 6y
EchoLogical @mreads Are you doing the reading women reading challenge this year? 6y
tournevis @EchoLogical Those mentioned by title are not tech ones. If you want titles, let me know. 6y
EchoLogical @tournevis Oh okay! 😆 6y
ScarletQuill I'm bringing my way through And That's Why We Drink, a true crime and paranormal pod hosted by two women. It's hilarious and entertaining. 6y
mreads @EchoLogical yes, I read pretty broadly but it's fun 6y
EchoLogical @mreads I am, too! I'm about to start another one for the challenge, "a book about a woman in science" 6y
mreads @EchoLogical I keep hearing good things about that one. I'm just about to do my review of an amazing multigenerational family saga 6y

Rereading this reminded me what type of horror I enjoy. I like the horror that resides in the mind not the gore, & the horror here is all in the mind-a kink in the DNA that allows a threat from the deep past to take over & threaten all humanity. Pike walks those edges of reality so well & while you read, you believe & the horror walks within & beside you. Can‘t wait to revisit the next one.
