Pickpick

333 p. I have read this book before and loved it when I was 14 or 15 y.o. This time around it struck me differently - I still loved the philosophy, the irony of the book, the insights into German society in between wars - but I appreciated it more. The book perfectly reveals the trauma of war, devastation of falling economy and and a burning desire to live despite all of it.

The Black Obelisk: A Novel | Erich Maria Remarque
