21 #51 I quite liked this first of the series. Starting the second one immediately. Love the fact that it‘s about Memphis gal. I have been that little southerner in the middle of a buncha Yankees. I love my Yankee people...bless their hearts

I feel so much about☝🏻️but I can't talk about it all here! So:

I connected deeply to the Southern US aspect. With stronger writing, I think LeeLee's story could resonate with a wider audience.

Ex: LeeLee is very timid in the beginning, having adopted the opinions of her father. Deferring decisions to her husband, etc. This is prevalent in parts of the Southeastern US, so I CHEERED HER ON as she found her voice vs. that outdated culture.

CocoReads I bailed on this book last year but I may give it another try. 8y
Suet624 I bailed too but the person who gave it to me keeps asking how I like it so I think I need to try it again. 8y
Zelma That sounds really good and that cover is gorgeous! 8y

This was a great book. It made me want to visit Vermont. I'm excited that it's a series.

Meh. I kept reading. Found the writing uninspiring at times. Would make a fun movie but the book was mediocre at best.
