Mornings are for studying Japanese. The book I use is a little unorthodox. It encourages learning the meanings of the Kanji w/o learning how to pronounce them. You make up stories so the characters stick. I've learned 700+ kanji so far, which is the most I've ever learned, and I don't forget them. While in Japan I was able to learn the readings for some of them pretty quickly. I'm going to stick with it until I can read ALL THE WORDS. #japanese

OutlandishLit @BookishMarginalia @theshrinkette thank you thank you 😶😶 8y
OutlandishLit @shainareads each character is a different story! Like the first one, in the upper left hand corner, means "overcome." the top of it is a needle, and the bottom is a teenager, so it's a teenager overcoming the temptation of drugs. Obviously bc they all build on each other, they get more and more complicated haha 8y
DebinHawaii That's amazing! What a great way to learn it! 😀 8y
