Duck on a Bike
Duck on a Bike | David Shannon
5 posts | 14 read
One day down on the farm, Duck got a wild idea. "I bet I could ride a bike," he thought. He waddled over to where the boy parked his bike, climbed on and began to ride. At first he rode slowly and he wobbled a lot, but it was fun! Duck rode past Cow and waved to her. "Hello, Cow!" said Duck. "Moo," said Cow. But what she thought was, "A duck on a bike? That's the silliest thing I've ever seen!" And so Duck rides past sheep, horse, and all the other barnyard animals. Suddenly, a group of kids ride by on their bikes and run into the farmhouse, leaving the bikes outside. Now ALL the animals can ride bikes, just like Duck!

This sassy duck loves riding anything with wheels and persuades all the other farm animals to join her - guaranteed to delight LOs from 2-6 yo.

#ucflae3414f17 Duck on a Bike by David Shannon is a fun book great for classroom libraries in grades K through 5. This F story is about a duck who decides he wants to try riding a bike. He starts to get pretty good and all the other animals notice. Soon enough, every animal on the farm is riding bikes, too. This book is great for teachers to read aloud, especially to younger emergent readers.

Radams Students can learn about farm and ranch animals while also discovering themes like change and new experiences. Teachers can use UDL 1.2 ‘offer alternatives for auditory information‘ by playing the cd to accompany the story. Without using the audio cd, teachers can use EL 14 ‘simplify your speech by making it slower and redundant‘ when reading aloud.
