One perfect life. One perfect family. One day to destroy it all. To an outside viewer, Nathan and Eve Thayer have an idyllic life. They have a lovely home in an affluent Boston suburb, a beautiful baby girl, great careers but beneath the glossy surface, all is not what it seems. Stress in Evas life is mounting, both professionally and personally, and she feels increasingly uneasy at her workplace. A break-in at a nearby house hasnt helped, either. Someone is out to destroy the Thayers peace, but no one knows why. Detective Rita Myers hasnt discovered whether Eve is a target or a suspect, but what she does know is that every disturbing incident in this peaceful neighborhood points back at her. And when a devastating event occurs, its clear how far from perfect Eve and Nathans lives really are. As the cracks in the surface start to show, so do the dark secrets that lie beneath... A pulse-pounding crime thriller, perfect for fans of Claire Douglas and Lisa Jewell. Praise for Terri Parlato: Wow! What a storyline!... great police work and some crazy twists and turns! ????? 4⭐
•Police procedurals that follow a particular detective usually put the focus on them…but this series focuses on all the characters involved and the detective happens to be one of those characters. It feels more personal and allows you to care about the characters involved. However, I didn‘t connect with the characters in this edition quite as much as the previous books and the ending was slightly OTT, I still highly recommend this series.

AudiobookingWithLeah The narration by Christina Moore, Rebecca Quinn Robertson, and Nick Mills was performed quite well.

Pickpick

Kept me guessing the whole time! The suspense was kept high and I thought three POVs worked really well.

I figured out part of it pretty quickly, but was stumped by the rest. Enjoyed the twisty ending even if a little unbelievable.
