Nadia Stafford isnt your typical nature lodge owner. An ex-cop with a legal code all her own, shes known only as Dee to her current employers: a New York crime family who pays her handsomely to bump off traitors. But when Nadia discovers that a troubled teenage employee and her baby have vanished in the Canadian woods, the memory of a past loss comes back with a vengeance, and her old instincts go into overdrive. With her enigmatic mentor, Jack, covering her back, Nadia unearths sinister clues that point to an increasingly darker and deadlier mystery. Now, with her obsession over the case deepening, the only way Nadia can right the wrongs of the present is to face her own painful ghosts and either bury them for good, or die trying. Because in her book, everyone deserves a chance. And everyone deserves justice.

“You wanted me to talk. So here I am talking, sharing this . . . epiphany with you, and what do I get? Sarcasm and mockery.”

“What #epiphany? That you like killing bad guys? That it makes you feel good? Tell me something I don‘t know. Something you don‘t know.... you think you went too far. Not by killing —, but by wanting it too much. So you think by wanting it you got that girl killed? That‘s not an epiphany, Nadia. It‘s idiocy.” #QuotsyJuly19

June was a slow reading month again: only 3 books completed. I finished the tagged book today & will be moving back to the Mick Axbrewder books since I‘m waiting for my library hold on the third Nadia Stafford book, Wild Justice. That will be my new “W” pick for #LitsyAtoZ2019 since I bailed on my original choice (Wuthering Heights). I expect July will be another slow month because I‘ll be busy with #CampNanowrimo! #JuneReadingWrapUp #JulyTBR

Book #2 in the Nadia Stafford series. Really enjoyed. I like the love triangle and the mysteries are interesting.

MaleficentBookDragon I just read her two latest adult books. Really enjoyed them. I do miss the Otherworld though. 8y

MaleficentBookDragon @erickaa and the next in the series just came out. 8y
erickaa @MaleficentBookDragon Ouuu I'll have to check that one out too. I'm always nervous about starting a series that isn't finished because I'm such a binge reader 8y

Nadia Strafford is probably my favorite ex-cop hit woman, not that I've read many books with an ex-cop turned hit woman, but still. Definitely a fun & entertaining read with a larger focus on justice then one would assume from their job titles 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Riveted_Reader_Melissa As a whole, I love Kelley Armstrong..... I'm really loving her Cainsville series at the moment. I have to read these soon. 8y
Erin01 @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I'm really loving her Cainsville series as well & cannot wait for the last one, though I am also a bit sad that the series will be over soon 8y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Erin01 You know, I'll be sad when it's over, but at the same time I've seen series that drag on forever and lose their spark as they get repetitive. I like that she writes complete stories, with a real beginning and end, in a set number of books, and then starts something else wonderful. 8y
Erin01 @Riveted_Reader_Meliss - that's true as well, which is one of the reasons I think her Otherworld series is my favorite because you get to experience the same world through a rotating cast of characters - though it has also been years since I read them so I don't know if I would view them any differently now. 8y
