I wish I liked these characters better. It‘s a great concept and the execution is good, I just want to slap Nicola and Amber.

⬗ One minute you‘re living the gal-pal dream, the next you‘re not. What happens when forever feels like too long? I think the vampire theme helped the story but overall it still kind of dragged for me. I don‘t think I liked being inside these women‘s heads all that much. The ending wasn't bad, though.
⬗ The narration by Suzanne Elise Freeman & Katharine Lee McEwan was good.
When I saw the pitch saying this was a toxic female friendship with vampires, I thought it would be a lot of fun because I LOVE both types of stories. And it probably will be fun to some people-the reviews are mostly good! I just feel like it wasn‘t toxic enough and it also wasn‘t vampire enough. I think if the author had chosen one of those tropes to really lean into, the story would have been better. But it felt not-quite-there on both fronts.
