Pickpick

This all-ages fantasy story is uplifting, inclusive, & comforting. The banter between Sir Violet & Snap is witty & clever with touches of sarcasm, but the humor never gets mean. It's a lighthearted read that nevertheless presents a deep message about acceptance of self & others. Short enough that it can be read fairly quickly, it's a great comfort read — I have re-read it a few times when the world has seemed grim, & it never fails to lift me up.

Nice story because not everyone has the same definition of a happy ending :)

A beautiful fairy tale about being different, and how to accept oneself and the people (and dragons) as they are. It's a feelgood story, even though we, the author and the characters know that there's still a long way to go. But all good change starts with the first step. And books like this one.

Delightful, slighty fantastical and very fairytale-inspired, The Dragon of Ynys features a dragon of snappy wit, a knight who would very much like a little less spiders in his adventures, and more queer rep than you can shake a stick at. A hug in a book, this.
