A good portrayal of the impact of a family member‘s mental illness on everyone, and more broadly the messiness of dysfunctional family dynamics. I like that the story doesn‘t tie itself up with a bow at the end. It felt realistic in its uncertainty. A topic that hits close to home for me, and it felt authentic.

Getting sucked right into this book. Perfect tea and reading spot on a cold rainy day.

A very good book about two sisters, their lives, their loves, their relationships with their parents. They‘re like night and day but they always manage to find each other. There were many ways this book could have ended, but I found the ending to be perfect. I would dedicate this book to all sisters everywhere.

Not always an easy read, but a compelling story of two sisters. Ollie is the sun around which her family revolves. Ollie also has severe mental health issues and blows in and out of their lives, causing chaos. Amy is the diligent, fastidious younger sister who spends her life cleaning up and making herself small. The story is told from Amy‘s point of view of loving, and sometimes hating, her sister and her effect on her own life.

Wallace's face might say otherwise, but I liked this book! Amy Shred is the younger sister. Her big sister Olly is magnetic, beautiful, & talented. She's also erratic, manic, dangerous & mentally ill. Amy grows up in her shadow as Olly appears & disappears from her family's life. Amy enters adulthood & tries to build a her own life & Olly continues to haunt her. Both sisters are frustrating but the story of their sisterhood is moving. #netgalley
