Sparks fly between two women pitted against each other in this delectable new romantic comedy by Taleen Voskuni, author of Sorry, Bro. Twenty-seven-year-old Nazeli Ellie Gregorian enjoys the prestige of her tech marketing job but is sick of the condescending Patagonia-clad tech bros, her micromanaging boss, and her ex-boyfriend, who shes forced to work with every day. When Ellies lovingly overbearing parents ask her to attend PakCona food packaging conference in Chicagoto help promote their company and vie to win an ad slot in the Superbowl (no big deal), shes eager for a brief change and a delicious distraction. At the conference, she meets witty, devil-may-care Vanya Simonian. Ellie cant believe how easy it is to talk to Vanya and how much they have in commonboth Armenian! From the Bay Area! Whose families are into food! Their meet-cute is cut short, however, when Ellies parents recognize Vanya as the daughter of the owners of their greatest rival, whose mission (according to Ellies mother) is to whitewash and package Armenian food for the American health-food crowd. Sworn as enemies, Ellie and Vanya must compete against each other under their suspicious parents' scrutiny, all while their feelings for each other heat to sizzling temps.

Pickpick

Two Armenian families enter a competition to promote their food brands. Nazeli & Vanya have an instant chemistry which their shared culture strengthens, until they realize their parents have been in a years-long feud. They hide their budding relationship while trying to convince the judges that Armenian cuisine can be palatable to the masses
Loved the romance in this one! Forbidden romance/rivals
And I enjoyed learning about Armenian food &culture

peanutnine It seems appropriate that I finished this yesterday, as today is Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armenian_Genocide_Remembrance_Day https://m.jpost.com/opinion/article-851146 2d

3/5⭐ This is a cute, fun, simple romance. The characters felt one-dimensional. I never got a feel for Ellie's personality or why Vanya would be attracted to her. Ellie seemed immature, and her reactions to her ex being pretty much the same as her feelings for Vanya made it difficult to believe in the new relationship. #buzzwordathon
