In just a few weeks, on Christmas Eve, the Pope will present the venerated relic of St. Nicholas to the head of the Eastern Orthodox Church in Moscow in the hope of reuniting East and West after a 1,000-year schism. Driven by rumors of the relics legendary power, many people want to control it, including a Russian mob boss who coerces Malachi Popov into stealing it for him before the ceremony. A devout man, Popov wants nothing to do with the evil scheme but his desperate need for money to support his ailing mother leaves him no choice. Once in possession of the miraculous relic, Popov witnesses its awesome power and regrets his action, but before he can set things right, it vanishes. Not knowing who to trust, both Popov and Maggie set off on a globe-spanning chase to recover the treasured artifact before the world learns its missing, and all hope of reuniting the Church is lost. What they dont know is there are others on their trail who will stop at nothing to keep them from their prize, including murder.

Pickpick

I truly enjoyed this book. It reminded me of Dan Brown's work, but has a tone all it's own. I won this from a Goodreads Giveaway.

A Biblical Archeologist, Maggie Shepherd, is excited about her next dig. She's going to help retrieve a relic from St. Nicholas' tomb. Strange things happen as it is being retrieved.

Malachi Popov is in a bind. His old employer has forced him to still the St. Nicholas relic for him. If he doesn't, his⬇️

Monica5 family will be in danger. Having no choice he steals it, but it changes his life.

Soon, the relic is missing, again. Who has it? Why would they want it? Can Maggie and Malachi get along long enough to get it back?

Good pace on this book. It kept me interested and intrigued. It seemed to me that the end was rushed a little bit. I would have preferred that something's at the end would have been explored more, other than that I really enjoyed it.

Thanks to Goodreads, Forefront Books and Dee Kelly Jr for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

😊 Happy Reading 😊
