pickThis was a fun and fast read. There's a lot to unpack about self worth and human nature but in a sort of sardonic way. Dan and Mara were completely relatable and the cast of secondary characters were great as well.

pickI can‘t remember how this got on my radar, but it was a readily-available ebook through my library and past-me had marked it “saved” so I just figured that the worst-case-scenario was I could just tap “return” if it didn‘t work for me. Alas, I loved the first line and just went along for the ride! Witty and dark and a little over the top, but unique enough and paced in a way I could get on board with. A good conversation starter, to boot! 3.5⭐️
